LaVerne Olsen, 84, of Manning, died Nov.
17, 2005 at Manning General Hospital. Funeral services were held Nov.
21 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery at
a later date. Among his survivors are his wife Audrey and daughter
Kathy Clement of Fort Dodge, IA.
Edmond Long, 77, of Carroll, IA, died Nov.17, 2005 at St. Anthony
Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services were held Nov. 21 at Sacred
Heart Church in Manning with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Among his survivors are his wife Marian of Carroll and children: Doug
of Cedar Rapids, IA, Curt of Urbandale, IA, Sue Venteicher of Pella,
IA, Ron of Breda, IA, and Tom of San Diego, CA.
Harvey (Spider) Hargens, 77, of Coos Bay, OR, originally of Manning,
died Nov. 30, 2005. Funeral services were held Dec. 6 at the Skyline
Baptist Church, North Bend, OR. Among his survivors are his daughters:
Lee Straney of Cottage Grove, OR, Karen Hargens of North Bend, Tracy
Gildersleeve of Pleasant Hill, CA, and his companion Ann Price.
Eileen Sporrer, 48, of Greenville, SC, formerly of Audubon, IA, died
Dec. 4, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. Funeral services
were Dec. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial in the Manning
Cemetery. Among her survivors are her husband Ron, and children: Lindsey
of Clemson University and Kyle of Greenville.
Mildred Spies, 72, of Gray, IA, died Dec. 9, 2005 at Manning General
Hospital. Funeral services were held Dec. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church
with burial in the Gray Cemetery. Among her survivors are her husband
Russell, and children: Nancy of Urbandale, IA, Lorri of LaHabra, CA,
Randy of Audubon, IA, Rodney of Columbia, MD.
Charles Hughes, 74, of Manning, died Dec. 9, 2005 at Manning General
Hospital. Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at Sacred Heart Church
with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Among his survivors are
his wife Ramona and children: Linda Helgevold of Irvine, CA, Lisa
Leos of Wichita, KS, Charles of Des Moines, IA, and Michael of Nevada,
IA.
Raymond Ehlers, 84, of Manning, died Dec. 18, 2005 at Manning Plaza
nursing home. Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at Zion Lutheran
Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among his survivors are
his wife Phylis and children: Annette Joens of Harvest, AL, Allen,
Charles and Robert of Manning.
Tom Hey, 58, of Manning, died Dec. 21, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Council
Bluffs, IA. Funeral services were held Dec. 24 at Sacred Heart Church
with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Among his survivors
are his wife Shirley and daughter Stacey Wentz of Minneapolis, MN.
Fredda Hinz, 101, of Manning died Jan. 10, at Manning Plaza nursing
home. Funeral services were held Jan. 13 at the First Presbyterian
Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors is
her son Roger of Manning.
Lester Joens, 77, of Carroll, formerly of Manning, died Jan. 26 at
his home. Funeral services were held Jan. 30 at the Ohde Funeral Home
with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Among his survivors is his
wife Delone, and children Deanne Mundt, Urbandale,IA, Tonya Hobbs,
Grimes, IA, Jeff of Manning, Brian of Des Moines.
Ruth Jensen, 80, of Manning, died Jan. 29 at Manning General Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 1 at Zion Lutheran Church with
burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors are her children:
Terry, Carroll, IA, Marva Henderson, Kansas City, MO, and Bruce of
Des Moines, IA.
Alice Grau, 98, of Manning, died Feb.13
at Manning Plaza nursing home. Funeral services were held Feb. 18
at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among
her survivors are children: Marilyn Rostermundt of Ireton, IA, and
Dr. Craig Grau of Verona, WI.
June Ruhde, 83, of Manning, died Feb. 14 at Manning Plaza nursing
home. Funeral Services were held Feb. 17 at Ohde Funeral Home with
burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors are children:
Larry of Carroll, IA and Steve of Omaha, NE.
Verna Fischer, 90, of Manning, died Feb.16 at Victoria Gardens in
Bellevue, NE. Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Zion Lutheran
Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors are
children: Lauron Musfeldt of Longview, TX, Ralph Musfeldt of Lafayette,
CO, Dale Musfeldt of Ankeny, IA, and Roger Musfeldt of Omaha, NE.
Edna Ramsey, 86, of Manning, died Feb. 26 at Manning Plaza nursing
home. Funeral services were held March 1, at First Presbyterian Church
with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors are children:
Keith Pfannkuch of Manning, John L. (Jack) Ramsey of Manning, Charles
Ramsey of Omaha, NE, and Lynn Ramsey of Granger, IA.
La Rae Heller, 71, of Manning died Feb. 28 at Taylor House Hospice
in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services were held on Mar. 4 at United
Methodist Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among her survivors
are children: Kaelyn Guerra of Carroll, IA, Darwin Betterton of Nampa,
ID, Paula Brinegar of Centerville, IA, Gayla Gross of Earling,IA,
Sheila Smith of Fort Dodge, IA, Shawn Bryant of Sioux Fall, SD, Darcy
Betterton of Pekin, IL, Darrin Heller of Council Bluffs, IA, Jason
Heller of Fort Dodge and step sons: Mike Heller of Council Bluffs,
and Kurt Heller of Colorado Springs, CO.
Jimmie Amsden Sr., 71, of Manning died Mar. 6 at Beverly Nursing Home
in Plattsmouth, NE. Funeral services were held Mar.9 at Ohde Funeral
Home with burial in Lake Creek Cemetery near Lake City, IA. Among
his survivors are children: Steven, Lincoln, NE, David, FL, Teri Amsden,
Waterloo, NE, Rick, Bellevue, NE, Jimmie Jr., Manning, Virginia Kahl,
Plattsmouth, NE, and step-sons, Robert Saunders, Aspinwall, and Jon
Saunders, Manning.
Jerome Kasperbauer, 87, of Manning, died Mar. 11 at Manning Regional
Healthcare Center. Funeral services were held Mar.15 at Sacred Heart
Church with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Among his survivors
are wife, Margaret, and children: Dave of Manning, and Mary Hazen
of Crescent, IA.
Virgil Reid, 79, of Manning, died Mar.
16, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Funeral services were held
on Mar. 18 at First Presbyterian Church with burial in the Manning
Cemetery. Among his survivors are wife, Shirley and children: Brian
of Carroll and Barry of Denison.
Fredric Dethlefsen, 72, of Chandler,
AZ, originally of Manning, died Mar. 18. Funeral services were held
Mar. 24 at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with burial in the Manning
Cemetery. Among his survivors are children: Nancy Ann Woods of Corona,
CA and William of Joliet, IL.
Lauron Musfeldt, 69, of Longview, TX
died Mar.21, in Longview. Funeral services were held Mar. 24 at Greggton
United Methodist Church. Among his survivors are wife, Beverly and
children: Janice of Knoxville, TN, and Jim of Pleasanton, CA.
Amanda Kruse, 95, of Manning, died Mar.
30 at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Apr.
3 at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Among
her survivors are children: Arthur of DeForest, WI, and Darlene Anderson
of Ft. Dodge, IA.
